Dagala Trek

Some call this Dagala Trek ‘a thousand lakes trek’, for, they get to see a multitude of pristine, crystal clear lakes. You will be ushered through the shimmering lakes and also be treated to stunning views of the entire Himalayan mountain range and some of the world’s highest peaks including Mt. Everest, Jomolhari, Masang Gang, Jichu Drake, Gangche Ta, and many more. The trail also takes you through several Bhutanese villages so you can get a good idea of traditional Bhutanese village life as you make your way back from the lakes. Although it is somewhat of a strenuous trek, it is worthwhile because of the tranquility and beauty of the natural landscape that you will enjoy during the journey. The best time to embark on this trek is between April-June or September –October.

Itinerary
Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, situated 2,200 meters above sea level, you will be warmly received. You will then visit the Ta Dzong National Museum, Paro Rinpung Dzong, and nearby temples. In the evening, enjoy an orientation tour of Paro town.
Embark on a scenic hike to Taktshang Monastery, famously known as the Tiger’s Nest, situated at an altitude of 2,900 meters. This iconic monastery is revered as one of the most sacred and significant sites in both Bhutan and globally

Drive from Paro to Genekha in the Thimphu District. Begin your trek from Genekha, heading towards Gur.
- Distance: 12 km
- Duration: 6 hours
- Camp Elevation: 4100m
Trek from Gur to Labatama, passing through Utsho Lake, which is teeming with golden trout. The campsite is situated next to the lake at an elevation of 4100m.
- Distance: 8 km
- Duration: 5-6 hours
- Camp Elevation: 4000m
Resume trekking from Labatama to Pankha. The trail passes along the western side of Dalatsho to a saddle at 4520m.
- Distance: 14 km
- Duration: 8 hours
Begin the day trekking from Pankha towards Chamgang. Upon reaching Chamgang, you will be picked up and taken to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan.
