The Nimalung Tshechu is held on the 5th month of the Bhutanese calendar in front of the Nimalung temple, located in Chummy valley in Bumthang Dzongkhag (district). a giant Thongdrol with applique work with images of Guru Rimpoche is put on display. The sight of this Thongdrol is said to cleanse the sins of all those who look upon it. This festival is observed for three days with great joy with a series of spectacular mask dances and historical folk dances. In this trip, we desire to take you through the heart to the core of Bhutan and try to give you a glimpse of Bhutan’s rich culture and tradition.

Itinerary
Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, travel to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. Along the way, visit Tachog Monastery. In the afternoon, explore the National Memorial Chorten, the Buddha Dordenma Statue, Kuenselphodrang Park, and a Traditional Handmade Paper Factory.
Hike to Cheri Monastery in the morning. In the afternoon, visit Takin Park, the Centenary Farmers’ Market, the Institute for Traditional Arts and Crafts, and the majestic Tashichhodzong, which houses the office of His Majesty the King.
Travel to Punakha, stopping at Dochula Pass to visit the 108 Victory Stupas along the way. Visit Chimi Lhakhang, the fertility temple. In the afternoon, explore the majestic Punakha Dzong, the longest suspension bridge, and Galem’s house.
Departing Punakha, we will travel to Bumthang, stopping en route at the Wangduephodrang Dzong. On the way, we will also visit the iconic Trongsa Dzong and the Ta Dzong museum, which showcases the rich history and culture of the region. As we drive, we will reach our highest point at the Pelela Pass, which stands at an elevation of 3,140 meters. From there, we will begin our descent into the Bumthang valley, where the thick fog often shrouds the landscape.
We will attend the Nimalung Tsechu at Chumey, which will feature a rare display of a giant silk appliqué thangka (tapestry) depicting Guru Padmasambhava. The Tsechu is a three-day festival. In the afternoon, we will visit Kurjey Lhakhang, Tamzhing Monastery, and Jambay Lhakhang. In the evening, take a leisurely stroll through the small town of Chamkhar.
We’ll make our way back to Paro, with a possible stop at Semtokha Dzong, the oldest dzong in Bhutan, if time allows
We’ll embark on a thrilling hike to the iconic Taksang Monastery, also known as the Tiger’s Nest, a sacred site perched precariously on a Cliffside. In the afternoon, we’ll visit the National Museum in Paro, which showcases Bhutan’s rich cultural heritage. Following that, we’ll visit Paro Dzong, a historic fortress and one of the country’s most iconic landmarks. We’ll also stop by Kyichu Lhakhang, a sacred temple, and unwind with a relaxing hot-stone bath at one of the nearby homestays.
